Brandy Gallagher - Author and Filmaker

Brandy
Gallagher is one of the original founders and developers of O.U.R.
Ecovillage, Shawnigan Lake (Vancouver Island) BC and the Executive
Director of O.U.R. Community Association a non-profit Society dedicated
to outreach projects (local and International), and the development of
O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE. As a sustainable land management planner and
ecological designer, she is the main proponent of the precedent-setting
rezoning legislation that allows multi-use allowances for ecovillages
and shared land projects across Canada. Brandy is also the
developer of TOPIA: The Sustainable Learning Community Institute
which operates onsite at O.U.R. Ecovillage.
John Helliwell, Professor Emeritus of Economics, UBC

Helliwell has written extensively on well-being, social capital and
public policy. He is Arthur J.E. Child Foundation Fellow of the
Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and co-director of CIFAR’s
program on “Social Interactions, Identity and Well-Being”. He was
previously Visiting Research Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, in 2003,
of St. Catherine’s College, Oxford, in 2001, and Mackenzie King
Visiting Professor of Canadian Studies at Harvard.
Susan Davidson - Member/owner of Glorious Organics Cooperative

Susan
is an owner-member of Glorious Organics Co-operative. She was an early
Board Member and a regular vendor at the Trout Lake Farmers Market,
first with the Langley Organic Growers collective and more recently
with the Organic Farm Connection. Currently she is helping to establish
the Langley Community Farmers Market at Kwantlen University campus
closer to home.
Cecile Andrews - Author of The Circle of Simplicity

Cecile
Andrews is the author of The Circle of Simplicity: Return to the Good
Life, and Slow is Beautiful: New Visions of Community, Leisure, and
Joie de Vivre, and the forthcoming Less is More: Embracing Simplicity
for a Healthy planet, Caring economy, and Lasting Happiness. She has
been a visiting scholar at Stanford University where she received her
doctorate in education. A former community college administrator, she
now works with community groups to explore the issue of living lives
that are sustainable,
just, and joyful.

Cynthia Oka works at Vancouver Status of Women; she is a passionate and unflinching supporter and organizer of campaigns against racism, colonialism and sexism as systematic structures that damage women and their families.
